On the day

To confirm your flight we ask you to call our office on (02) 6684 7880 the day before between 5 and 6 pm for a weather check and exact meeting time.

What to wear and bring

Wear hiking style clothing and bring a hat. Don't forget your camera - make sure your camera batteries are charged . Sturdy shoes are recommended, as feet can get wet in the early morning dew.

Please bring sunglasses, a cap and sunscreen.

Ladies, no skirts or high heels please!
Depending on the season, you may need jeans, jumper, beanie and a jacket that you can remove as the morning warms up.

Before departure to the launch site:

At our base, the pilot will give you a brief outline of current weather and the proposed launch site. You might be there in time to see the piball released – a small helium filled balloon with a light attached to it that helps us to determine the upper air winds.

Next we drive to our launch site, where the balloon is unpacked and prepared for inflation. If you want, you can help with this.

At the launch site:

It takes around twenty minutes to prepare the balloon for take off, and once the pilot has completed his pre flight checks you are invited to climb into the basket.

After a passenger briefing it is time for take off – you will be surprised how gentle and easy it is.
